Bijou’s 24-hour exclusive use hire enables Notley Abbey to become your home-from-home for the duration of your wedding celebrations: from 11am on the morning of your special day through to 11am the following day. This exquisitely romantic wedding venue has three licenced civil ceremony spaces, two inside (and perfect for anytime of the year) and one located outside for those summer months, within the stunning Walled Garden.
For your wedding reception the Monks’ Refectory, a stone barn which remains largely unchanged since the 12th century, can seat up to 190 guests for a traditional yet impressive wedding banquet. This unique room, oozing both history and style, can be tailored to individual décor ideas, creating your own truly bespoke wedding celebration. Notley Abbey can host up to 250 guests for you evening party, allowing you to invite further evening guests, and your celebration can continue into the small hours by extending the licence.
Everything about this venue is beautifully kept – from the breath-taking tree-lined driveway to the extensive grounds. It offers endless photographic opportunities for those romantic newly-wed shots and the traditional family photos with Notley Abbey featured as a beautiful backdrop. Notley Abbey offers couples a spacious Master Suite, complete with the only remaining original door of the Abbey, now used as a walk-in wardrobe. In addition to this, Notley Abbey boasts eight incredible guest bedrooms with a contemporary yet characterful design to match the history of the building, for your nearest and dearest to enjoy overnight on the day of your celebrations. The next morning, you and your overnight guests will enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Dining Room before waving goodbyes and departing to commence married life.
